Text Box: Lieutenant Chad Layton became a police officer after graduating the Academy in June of 1994.  He currently holds the positions of Training Coordinator and Firearms Instructor for the Lake St. Louis Police Department.  
During his 14 years in Law Enforcement, he has served as an Officer, a supervisor, a training instructor, a detective and has been detached to investigative, fugitive and tactical units.  Chad has is a Tactical Operator on a multi-jurisdictional S.W.A.T. team, and currently serves as a Team Leader.  The following is a brief description of Chad’s training background, qualifications and achievements:

·         Certified National Rifle Association Police Firearms Instructor

·         Certified National Rifle Association Law Enforcement Select Fire Rifle Instructor  

·         International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Member

·         National Tactical Officer Association Member

·         Firearm Training System Graduate – (FATS)

·         Certified Shoot House Instructor

·         Certified as a SIMUNITION® Training Scenario Instructor

·         Graduate of the Basic Special Weapons and Tactics (S.W.A.T.)

·         Graduate of the IACP Advanced Tactical and Hostage Operations

·         Graduate of the IACP S.W.A.T. Supervision and Management School

·         Graduate of Louisiana State University’s Emergency Tactical Operations- Weapons of Mass Destruction

·         Certified in Tactical Operations in Clandestine Environments

·         Additional certifications in Initial Response (Patrol) and Tactical Response (S.W.A.T.) to Active Shooters, Supervision of   Active Shooter Incidents and Survival Techniques and Field Tactics.
